„In Warsaw, we had an opportunity to hear her sing Cantata Giovanna d’Arco by Rossini to the accompaniment of the orchestra, in a version created by Sciarrino (which does sound heavy for the Rossini style, yet is surely more vivid than the version with piano accompaniment only). Quite predictably, Ewa Podleś proved to be a perfect executant. With the passing years, her beautiful voice characterised by a unique timbre has become even more rich and powerful. Her dazzling coloratura roulades and trills actually left everyone speechless. She impressed the audience with her amazing vocal range and almost baritone-sounding lower registers, and her powerful dramatic expression moved many a listener.”
